Will Smith has announced that he and DJ Jazzy Jeff will reunite in August to play a couple of live shows together.

Smith teased fans in 2015 about a possible world tour but it has not yet come to be reality. So this announcement certainly has people hoping that perhaps this is the first leg of shows before the pair do embark on a world tour.

Smith and Jeff were pretty big in the late ’80s and early ’90s with their light-hearted hip hop. They won their first Grammy in 1889 for ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’ and made a bit of a come back in 1991 with ‘Summertime’.

It was no secret that Smith was keen to hit the road again and play some music after an interview in 2015 with Beat 1.

“I’m pretty certain I’m going on tour,” he said.

“Jeff and I actually never have done a full tour. I was always on ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’, I was always making a movie, so we’ve never actually done a full tour.

“So I’m looking this summer for the first time we go out on a full world tour.”

“I’m really ready,” he added.

“I’m excited about getting it into my music.”

Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff will play MTV’s Summerblast Festival in Croatia and the Livewire Festival in the UK 26 and 27 August respectively.
