The Met Gala has come and gone for another year and, as always, there’s plenty to talk about.

Let’s start with the theme of the event. The 2017 Met Gala theme was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons, making her the first living designer since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983 to be the theme of the event.

Some attendees nailed the theme with Katy Perry and Rihanna paying special attention. While some celebs chose to discard the theme entirely, although it seemed. Kim Kardashian West was one of those attendees that went with an understated look instead of the Comme Des Garçons’ designer’s upcoming ‘Art Of The In-Between’ style we were expecting and sticking with her new minimalistic aesthetic.

Kim has also been talked about because of her date; she had none. She flew solo on the red carpet while sources say Kanye stayed at home with their two children because he isn’t ready for such a public event after his meltdown last year.

Other Kardashian sisters took the heat off Kanye though; Kendall Jenner primarily for her barely-there dress. The super-sheer number left little to the imagination and it’s not like we didn’t already know she has a models figure. Perhaps she thought the theme, ‘Art Of The In-Between’, could stretch as far as “in between” clothed and nude.

She also made her relationship status with A$AP Rocky pretty official when the pair were seen together at the event. The youngest of the sisters, Kylie Jenner, also managed to take the selfie of the season, breaking the no-selfie rule and rivalling Ellen DeGeneres’ Oscars snap.

That’s enough of the Kardashian’s though. Serena Williams’ showcased her baby bump publicly for the first time and the weirdest talking point of all came from Jaden Smith. He carried his hair. Yes, you read right. Jaden used his dreadlocks as an accessory by carrying them in his hand during the event. As if we weren’t going to notice he cut them all off, he just had to wave them in everyone’s faces.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd also confirmed all relationship rumours by stepping out together and Solange also turned heads wearing…a sleeping bag?

Once again, the Met Gala 2017 has produced enough content to keep us all talking about who went with who and who wore what, until next year.
