Radiohead had some unfortunate technical trouble and had to leave the stage twice while technicians tried to fix the speakers but managed to push through and finish their set. Lady Gaga took to the stage on Saturday night and, after performing classic hits from previous albums, dropped a new track ‘The Cure’ right there and then on stage. Post Malone spent thousands of dollars on 10,000 Popeyes biscuits to keep Coachella-goers from an empty stomach, an all-too-common occurrence at music festivals. While The Weeknd joined Nav for a surprise double act.

Lorde took the stage on Sunday night ahead of the release of her follow-up album ‘Melodrama’ later this year. She too performed a brand new song called ‘Homemade Dynamite’ from the upcoming record.

A surprising highlight of the Coachella weekend came in the form of Hans Zimmer, one of the most prolific film soundtrack composers in the industry who has scored movies from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ to ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy to ‘The Lion King’. Accompanied by a full orchestra as well as Pharrell Williams, Zimmer played his biggest songs to the delight of the huge, childhood-reminiscent crowd.

Kendrick Lamar inevitably was the biggest highlight, after his brand new album ‘Damn’ was released only on Friday. Lamar included several of the new tracks from the album in his headlining setlist, including ‘Humble’ which proved a massive hit when it was released as a teaser to ‘Damn’.

The festival will play again this weekend and is expected to be packed with even more performances and with weekend one stacking up to be this massive you’ll want to stay tuned for plenty more news out of Coachella 2017 weekend two!
