Multiple world champion Manny Pacquiao and Britain’s Olympic silver medallist Amir Khan have both announced they have agreed to terms to fight this April.

After discussions about who would be Pacquiao’s next opponent, Amir Khan was voted in by Pacquiao’s fans on Twitter ahead of Jeff Horn, Terence Crawford and Kell Brook.

Khan, 30, won silver at the Athens Olympics as a lightweight boxer. He moved up two weight classes ahead of his fight with middleweight Canelo Alvarez last May. He was defeated by Canelo and has not fought since.

Khan is likely to drop back to welterweight to fight Pacquiao who holds the World Boxing Organization welterweight title after defeating Jessie Vargas last November.

The pair are scheduled to fight on 23 April. No venue or location has yet been announced.
