LaVar Ball has made the correct observation that Michael Jordan is not his son. The senior Ball appeared on Fox Sports programme ‘Undisputed’ and was asked why (his actual son) Lonzo Ball’s signature sneaker, the ZO2 Prime, were so expensive compared to NBA legend Michael Jordan’s own brand of sneakers.
“Because he ain’t Lonzo Ball, that’s why. Did he have his own brand coming in? It’s a new era called the Ball era.”
The ZO2 sneakers were released last week and immediately drew both interest and derision towards the exorbitant pricing; $495 for the ZO2 Prime and $995 for the signed ZO2 Wet. The sneakers were released through the Ball family’s company Big Baller Brand after talks of endorsement deals with Nike, Under Armour and adidas fell through.
