J. Cole has just dropped his HBO documentary, ‘4 Your Eyez Only’, and has stepped out of the spotlight to let the voices of the South tell their stories.
Cole travels through Atlanta, Ferguson, Baton Rouge, Jonesboro, Arkansas and Fayetteville in the forty-eight-minute long video to show the challenges of the everyday men and women of present-day America.
“I felt like it would be mad powerful for black people to see black people talking to each other,” Cole told the New York Times.
“And you see a rapper who’s considered one of the biggest in the game, just listening. These are people that never get to be heard, by the world or even by each other.”
‘4 Your Eyez Only’ is Cole’s second documentary with HBO following his 2015 ‘Forest Hills Drive’ Homecoming special.
Cole is set to head out on a world tour this June.
